Dear Young Families,
It is with great pleasure and excitement as I start my second year as the Principal of Janet L. Young Elementary School. I look forward to continuing on this wonderful journey with this amazing community who have exhibited their commitment to our students and their development in Mind, Body and Spirit. One thing I have learned is change is constant. That being said, I am excited to be a part of the growth of our new Clovis South area.
As we begin the 2024-25 school year, I will be entering my 16th year as an educator. I would also like to say that I am a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I am so happy to be a part of a school who has a Jet as their mascot which demonstrates our appreciation for the sacrifice the U.S troops and U.S pilots make every day to ensure our families can enjoy a high level of education that we are committed to provide.
I am grateful to be a part of the Clovis Unified School District as an educator and a proud parent. This district continues to do what is best for our students and to ensure they are prepared for the world. My wonderful wife, Lisa, and I have two sons, one who attends Clark Intermediate School and the other who is a Cedarwood Hawk.
As the Principal, I will work hard to continue the legacy set forth by Dr. Young, Mrs. Gibson and those who have built this school from the ground up and continue to work alongside this community to provide our students with a first-class experience. I look forward to speaking with each of you and welcome your input because I genuinely believe we’re all in this together.
Sincerely,
Ray Gamez
