Meet the Principal

Dear Young Families,

It is with great joy and anticipation that I welcome you to the 2026–27 school year at Janet L. Young Elementary School! As I begin my fourth year as Principal, I remain deeply honored to serve this incredible community, one that continues to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to nurturing our students in Mind, Body, and Spirit.

This year marks my 18th year in education, and I continue to be inspired by the growth of the Clovis South area. I am also proud to bring the values I learned as a United States Marine Corps veteran into our school culture: Honor, Courage, and Commitment. Our Jet mascot is a powerful symbol of the bravery, discipline, and dedication demonstrated by those who serve, and it reminds us each day to challenge ourselves, support one another, and strive for excellence. Our country has done it for 250 years.

As both an educator and a parent in Clovis Unified, I see firsthand the district’s unwavering commitment to doing what is best for students and preparing them for their future. My wife, Lisa, and I are grateful to be raising our two sons in this community and to be part of something so special.

At Janet L. Young Elementary, we stand on the strong foundation built by Dr. Young, Mrs. Gibson, and the many staff members, families, and community members who have poured their hearts into this school. As we enter another exciting year, I am committed to honoring that legacy while continuing to grow, innovate, and create opportunities for EVERY student to thrive.

We have the opportunity to build on all that we have accomplished while continuing to define who we are as a school community. I look forward to working alongside our incredible staff, students, and families as we create another year filled with growth, joy, belonging, and success.
