Care Chip Awards for All Grades

When Dr. Janet L. Young would hire an employee, she would always say, “I can pay you to do a job, but I can’t pay you to care. The care chip comes from within.” In her honor, we want to instill in our students that “we can teach you about diverse character traits, that other people matter, but it is the student’s responsibility to develop their care chip within.”

The Care Chip will be awarded to students once a month. Each month, there will be two students from each primary class and three students from each upper grade class who will be granted the Care Chip. The Care Chip is represented by a two-sided coin and as our students continue through the grade levels, they ultimately can leave after sixth grade with a coin collection of different Care Chips.
