It's a busy week!

Y.E.S. Community:  We'd like to take a moment to remind everyone about the numerous activities taking place on campus this week.

• Tomorrow (9/16) is our annual Jet Fly by.  This year, we've added a new, fun component to this event - chalk dust!  That's right, while our students are zooming around the track, they will also receive a dusting of various chalk colors!  Please wear your color run t-shirt (delivered to students this afternoon) or a white t-shirt which may or not not get some color on it!  The schedule is below.
• Tomorrow is also our 1st Lunch on the Lawn of the year!  If you're new to this event, it's pretty easy.  This is meant to be a casual, picnic-style, free event for you & your family to enjoy.  The 5th & 6th grade teachers will be taking over the snack bar tomorrow so if you forget something to eat, stop by there to grab a treat!  If you prefer to check your child out for lunch, or the day, please stop by the front office to complete this.  They are happy to help!  This is an extremely busy day for them so please be patient.  Pro tip:  Send your child's teacher a message on ParentSquare notifying them of the time you plan to check your student out before you plan to arrive.  Please see the lunch schedules on the flier below.
• Thursday is "Anything but a Backpack" Day.  What is this you ask?  It's where student's carry their items needed for the day in anything but a backpack,  Here are some ideas:  
  • Rolling carts and wagons: Wheels make it easy to haul heavy books around the hallways
  • Household containers: Laundry baskets, 5-gallon buckets, and plastic milk crates are common choices
  • Quirky items: Musical instrument cases, coolers, large cooking pots, or even a pet bed!
• Friday, our 2nd grade will receive a visit from Reptile Ron to check out some cool reptiles
  • There are no games on Friday, but we will still have athletic practice
